Why Your Reels Look Blurry

It's counter-intuitive, but uploading 4K video to Instagram often results in worse quality than 1080p.

Why? Because Instagram's servers are optimized for speed, not quality preservation. If you give them a massive 4K file, they will brutally compress it using their own fast, low-quality algorithm.

The Fix: Feed Instagram a file it likes. Upload a 1080p video with a controlled bitrate (around 5 Mbps). Instagram will embrace it, process it minimally, and your Reel will stay crisp.

Instagram video compressor FAQ

Answers about quality, supported formats, and Instagram presets.

Why does Instagram make my video blurry?+
Instagram compresses videos over 4GB or with high bitrates. By pre-compressing to under 50MB with Cubix, you prevent Instagram's aggressive compression from ruining your quality.
Best settings for high quality Reels?+
Use 1080x1920 resolution (9:16), H.264 codec, and keep bitrate around 3-6 Mbps. Do NOT upload 4K unless necessary, as Instagram downscales it poorly.
Can I compress videos for Stories?+
Yes! Stories have strict size limits. Our tool optimizes videos to fit perfectly within Story limits without losing sharpness.
Does this remove watermarks?+
This tool strictly compresses videos. If you need to remove a watermark first, use our Watermark Remover tool before compressing.
What is the max file size for Instagram?+
Technically 4GB for Reels, but we recommend keeping it under 100MB for faster upload and better processing quality.
